mini ipod contest at teavilla.com
There is a mini ipod contest over at www.teavilla.com where you can enter at the forums at www.teavilla.com/teachat.
They will be holding these drawings every month. To enter just register and create posts. Each posts equals an entry. There is also another way to enter which is Paper Street Teas, so when you buy some gourmet tea, each dollar spent equals an entry as well as any points you've earned by referring friends and posting reviews.
Take a gander and try to win!

goodbye pamela
It's been a while since I posted but here it is. Pamela got fired. woopie. This weeks contest was about selling the most product on qvc. I must admit, none of those people seemed like they ever shopped there or knew anyone, because they priced their products really high.
They could have moved more product if it was cheaper but oh well. Ultimately the guys won by $10. Man, that must have been a really jacked up way to lose. $10. I must admit though that Pamela really ran that ship like a dictator. Not taking any advice or suggestions and just going in there and running rampant. I personally didn't dig her style, but I understand why she did it. She wanted to fire up the women, but that didn't really happen.
What was up with Maria? Man, when she got in front of that camera. I wouldn't say she fell apart, but she's a blinker. When I say a blinker, she blinks like 20 times a second. It's really distracting especially with her long lashes. This was also evident in the board room. I think it's a nervous twitch or something, but it defintiely doesn't add to her public speaking crap.
Then there's stacy j, wtf. I think she has the equivalent of the little man syndrome. She's always trying to ruffle reathers and crap. I don't like her. I want her to be the next project manager and see how her lameness is going to work as a leader.
She reminds me of someone I used to know, with her analness and really snooty attitude. I can't quite place it but I have definitely met her before.
Then there's Sandra or whatever her name is. The chick who spent hours on the set. Wtf? Why was she even delegated that task when she so bombed on the restaurant? Why didn't she do anything else? From my understanding the set was already done. So she spent hours doing nothing but rearraning apples. Ok, she says that she wasn't told to do anything else, wtf? Why should she be told? She should just know right? I mean we are all talking about people that have started their own companies or run the show or some crap like that. Why can't they get it into their heads that they need to go above and beyond the call of duty?
Then there's my favorite, elizabeth...as cute as she is she really made me not like her for the faux pas when she said what a great job that other girl did, and then said make sure maria doesnt talk or some crap. That was the stupidest thing ever.
The men did a great job, although I didn't like the price point. Man, i don't eve knowthere names still, other than Raj. And raj was right about the whole pricing scheme of hitting a mental barrier. I'd rather pay 69.95 than 71.00 any day. It just looks less. Don't get me on this whole thing about pricing here in the states either because I'd rather much have it like in europe where the cost of something already has the tax built in, so if something costs 3 euros, its 3 euros, not 3 and something. But that's another story.
The women are definitely getting clobbered. I can't seem to understand why they can't work together. Are they only thinking about the end where they know they have to eliminate each other? That there is only 1 job?
I don't know. Alls I know is that I want elizabeth or ivana to win. Ivana has definitely been growing on me...hmmm....
till next week!

What the heck is happening?
What's going on?

yer fired!
Yet another decent episode of The Apprentice. This time, Bill Rancic, the winner from the first one took George's place in overseeing the projects.
Last nights project was to try and get the highest score on the Zagat Survey for their restaurants. I really thought that the guys did a bang up job from the start. First they hired a cleaning crew to clean the place top to bottom then they just seemed to be really organized and spread out. It also looked like they were having fun with the customers. Raj did a fantastic job as project manager.
Whereas the women's team just needed some more oomph. I must admit that their restaurant looked really great, but as Carolyn said, it wasn't the place to put it, they didn't look at the demographic enough. The project manager, Jen, I think that's her name, didn't seem to do anything. I don't know if this was editing or what, it just seemed like she hoared over people and customers, not really contributing anything much. For instance there was a point where she was talking to these 2 customers, and she kept saying 'great, great, hows the food, great, great' and she stayed there looking at them for like 2 mins longer. If I were the customer I'd totally be like WTF, get out of here, we're trying to eat! She also didn't seem to do a bang up job spreading the women around. Ivana had the best idea which was to spread them all out whenver they clumped together.
Overall, Bill said it best in the boardroom. This is not a game. There's no point in making alliances because most likely you will be fired. And that's what happened. I loved how Jen chose Elizabeth and Stacie R. to the boardroom. The 2 people she disliked the most. Instead of her friend that failed the biggest, the decorator.
So there you have it. Last nights episode seemed to lack some of the drama from last years shows. I wonder if there is a new editor or soemthing. Also, it was easy to tell that the women would lose, b/c they kept showing only the women in action, i don't know about you, but this seems to be a clue.
I am glad to see that the men are winning more often and not getting clobbered by the women like last years as well.
And I think I've found my favorite girl that I will cheer for throughout the show. Her name....Elizabeth!
Why here you ask? Well, she's the cutest by far, and she has a sensibility but some chutzpah as well. I totally dig her style. We'll see how far she goes in The Apprentice. I do hope she makes it towards the end. I still haven't chosen a guy to win. Last year I had thought it would be Bill and...damn, her name escapes me...ahh Amy, but that wasn't it. It was Bill and Kwame.
It's harder to choose a guy this year b/c they dont seem to be profiling them as much as the women. I think in a couple of more weeks I will be able to tell.
But for now....Let's GO ELIZABETH! DON'T GET FIRED!

square peg, no hole.
This weekend solidifies my status as the square peg. After having gone to a suprise b-day bash for my ex-ceo of a dotcom, some friends and I went to this club out in Hermosa Beach. It was pretty ok, but I quickly realized how lame I am. Not only did I not really fit in, I just didn't understand the whys of it all. Going under the guise that we were entertainment reporters (so we wouldnt have to stand in line), my friends quickly found themselves having a blast dacing amongst themselves on the floor.
I always knew that I had more fun hanging out with good people and places conducise to hanging out, like bars or coffee shops or whatevers. Not clubs, where the music is too loud, too many guys hitting on too few girls. I think clubs are only fun when you acutally have a g/f to go with. Otherwise, whats the point? Seriously. Whats the point? I saw a few people kind of hookup, but not really. The music was cool, but again, I think I'm just too old for the clubbing scene.
I mean, I'm not that old, mid 20's, but having done all of the clubbing and mass drinking earlier on in life, I have just grown tired of the whole ordeal. I used to see the attraction years ago, meeting new girls, hooking up with girls and trying to bang'em. But now-a-days, it just doesnt whet my appetite.
What can you do? Even at the b-day I got along with some people, but maybe it was b/c I was the only asian there, or maybe it was because I was 20 years younger than everyone else. But whatever the case maybe, I usually feel like the odd one out wherever I go.
Funny to note that the only time I really felt at home was when I was in a place where I didn't know anyone. Like when I lived in Korea or traveled through western europe. I felt most at ease at those places. I dont know what the cause is, but I just can't seem to relate to many of my friends or anyone around me. Why is that? Same story for all these years. Maybe that's why I don't really keep in touch with most friends. Maybe thats why when I speak to some frineds I knew from high school, they tell me how they hung out with all these people from high school and what not. Or even from college. Hearing these things usually makes me go, hmm... We were all friends, why contact them? Perhaps it was b/c I was so detached from everyone, only really getting along with the older people, like the people I worked with who were usually at least 5 years older than me.
I'm not saying I'm mature, but I just feel like I am totally in a different universe when talking to people my age. Could it be b/c I'm usually the one doing things first? Like starting a company, travelling, and doing a whole slew of other things, and that by the time my friends catch up, I',ve already been there done that?
I hate being alone, even when I'm surrounded by friends, I'm still alone. Stupid focking me. I dont think I'll ever find someone who understands. Oh well....who gives a crappola.
Oh well. As much as I enjoy pondering the why's of why I am so out of place I must go and get some work done.

oprah win free?
Recently, GM had a promo on Oprah Winfrey's talk show and gave away 276 new G6's to each of the audience members. I knew they would have to pay taxes, but some of them thought they could just walk away with the cars and not worry about it.
Here's a cute article at fool.com.
C'mon people, let's get with the times, you need to expect that crap! If it were me, i'd totally sell the damn thing, pay the taxes and keep the exta 20k and invest that crap! Maybe into a better car like the infiniti g35.

tonights apprentice
Finally! FINALLY! Finally Stacie was fired. I must admit though, I was surprised at how they did it though. Everyone said she was schizo basically and so Trump got a consensus. This was weird. But pretty effective since she got fired.
Tonights contest I thought was poorly done though, I mean, a buzz index? Who generates the most buzz? I mean, shit, its so objective you know? So the girls got Mike Piazza. BFD. Seriosuly, the people didnt look like they cared b/c there really wasn't anyone there. Did you notice how the camera panned once to the full crowd and then just had tight shots? That's because no one was there!
Same thing goes for the guys and their circus idea. But theirs looked more fun and engaging. Oh well.
Tonights episode didn't really get me all riled up like last weeks, and I hope that future episodes will be better. I mean, every single episode last year totally engaged me, but tonights left me wanting something. Maybe it was b/c you couldnt really qualify the episode with numbers. It was just opinion. I mean if they measured the number of people that filled out surveys or even just counted the number of people then I would have been satisfied. But nay. No qualifier whatsoever.
I wonder who'll win though. I don't even know who to root for. I was originally shooting for Bradford, but that dumbass got fired. I'd really like to have Ivana, but she's pretty lame as well, but I will root for a fellow asian in hopes that she won't get too flustered in any future projects and stops being a pushover. Go Ivana! GO!
No one on the guys team has really struck me as a good leader, but that kid does have some balls on him which makes him a contender. But I wouldnt be surprised to see him fail when he leads the team. We'll see.
I'll have a better understanding of who I want to win in about 3 more episodes I'd say.

and the cow goes RUFF!
It's been such a disastrous day. Nothing seemed to go right...again. Stupid computers failing, car not working...again, stupid drivers on the road, stupid people walking...and whats up with the people that stand in line at Carls jr?
I see the same freegin people, order the same freegin thing and yet they always take like 5 minutes to look at the menu and order! Man, I can totally predict what they get b/c they always get the same damn thing!
And what gives with the schmoes in the bank? I went to the bank today and freegin everyone seemed to be standing in line and filling out their deposit slips. Now I know this isn't a crime, but what should be a crime is when they are holding up the freegin line! Or they think that they can get their place back. One person does it, then everyone does it! WTF!?
Argh....so much more, but I think I am going to chill out for a minute before I cut out of work....
Man, my day would really suck if it weren't for these cute assistants around the office. Sucks that winter is coming b/c mmm....they looked so yummy! Sad that they don't have much going on upstairs, but thats why they were hired! Hope they dont realize that. But yup...the big guy wanted some eye candy for the clients and himself.
Earlier today I saw one of them cleaning his floor, on hands and knees! U know what she was wearing? mmm.....short blouse and jeans type. I can't describe it but she looked cute. Anyhow, I could tell the big guy wanted to jerk off to her especially the lonely old managers...so perverted. They would just stare at them...and the girls too! hahaha.
Whats funny is that everyone in the office knows, but don't say shit. Seriously, if I really cared about this job I would totally tell the girls and have them file a lawsuit. But I think in some weird way the girls like being the eye candy of hte office.
But having them clean the big guys office is something totally...how u say...WRONG!?
damn, i'm outta here.
